We've Launched on Y Combinator!

We're excited to share Reticular on Y Combinator and bring our work on embryo selection to a broader audience. Our focus is simple: help families going through IVF make more informed decisions with better polygenic prediction and clearer genetic risk reports.

Our Mission

Standard embryo testing focuses on chromosomes. That matters, but it leaves out the thousands of small genetic effects that shape risk for common conditions like heart disease, type 2 diabetes, certain cancers, and mental health disorders. Reticular builds polygenic models that turn existing IVF genetic data into clinically useful information for parents and care teams.

Our Team

We're John Yang and Nithin Parsan, co-founders of Reticular. We met competing in International Biology and Neuroscience Olympiads, studied at MIT, and have spent years building at the intersection of biology, statistics, and machine learning.

Our Approach

Embryo selection is a high-stakes prediction problem. Families are choosing between a small number of embryos on a fixed timeline, and the decision is irreversible. Better prediction does not need to be perfect to be useful; it needs to be rigorous, calibrated, and transparent about uncertainty.

For clinics and families, we deliver:

  • Polygenic risk analysis from the genetic data already collected during IVF
  • Embryo-level reports designed for clinicians, genetic counselors, and parents
  • Model development centered on within-family validation and careful calibration

See Us in Action

Read more about the family-facing product on our For Patients page, or see our deeper technical view in Polygenic Prediction: The Problem, the Landscape, and What We're Building.

Connect With Us

We're looking to connect with:

  • IVF clinics interested in offering richer embryo genetic insights
  • Genetic counselors and reproductive endocrinologists shaping responsible patient workflows
  • Researchers working on polygenic prediction, family-based validation, and genomics infrastructure
